Dean Watters from Griffith College and Ruth O’Hara collaborated on this important cataloguing project. They have a wealth of cataloguing experience between them as the head of cataloguing for Griffith College and Collections and Content Librarian in Maynooth University Library respectively.

In this case study ‘Diversifying Dewey: Changing the DDC23 to better represent Irish Travellers‘ they discuss the process involved in revising the Dewey Decimal System (DDC) to provide a more accurate and inclusive description of Irish Travellers.

Eilís O’Neill

Eilis O’Neill is the Outreach and Engagement Librarian in DCU Library and she is a member of the Academic and Special Libraries committee. Following the completion of a UDL digital badge course in 2023 she became interested in learning how library resources and communications could be designed to be as accessible as possible.

In this case study, ‘Let’s take it outside (the classroom): Implementing UDL practices in non-teaching roles‘ she examines how she worked with library colleagues to apply UDL practices to an information resource in DCU Library.

Paola Corti

Paola Corti is the Open Education Community Manager of SPARC Europe, working with the European Network of Open Education Librarians (ENOEL); she supports librarians in taking action to implement the UNESCO Recommendations on OER and helps bridge the gap between educators and librarians to work more together.

Her case study ‘Librarians as agents of change – SPARC Europe’s Strategy to advance Open Education in Europe‘ looks at how SPARC Europe is working on a strategy that aims to make open education become the standard in European education. Librarians are involved with the design process of this strategy, which addresses barriers and limitations to the widespread use of open education in the field.
